Too Much WiFi is a venture-backed social enterprise founded in 2016 by Jonathan Endersby and Ian Thomson, now CEO'd by Tauriq Brown. They run affordable fibre-backed wireless internet infrastructure for township communities — currently 400,000+ customers across 50+ communities, with $1M Series A backing from BLOC Smart Africa, Bamboo Capital Partners, and others. They have driven the cost of data in the communities they serve from R200/GB on mobile networks to under R4/GB.
The February 2026 launch in Tshwane was the activation of one of their wireless tower nodes — the actual physical switch-on of community internet — paired with a township parade, a youth bicycle giveaway, a sport-bike club community engagement, and an indoor function with MMCs and Councillors from the City of Tshwane.
The YiB partnership positions Too Much WiFi as the connectivity layer underneath every future KYDS hub: YiB doesn't need to build the bandwidth; Too Much WiFi already has it.
